What’s It Like To Be A Pets Owner

When I use to have other pets when I was a kid I didn’t realize just how much they really cost or how much the vet bills wear and so on. When I was little and had pets all I did was feed them, clean them out, fill up their drink bottle and then let my mum and dad know when they needed more bedding and food.

Now that I’ve got Kiara I now realize just how much money it costs to keep a pet and well at first I was shocked with Howe it all cost just to keep one pet let alone 2 or 3. I also didn’t realize how much rabbit food, vegetables, toys, bedding and hay cost and all the other things that come with looking after a rabbit.

Lucky I have a set budget of how much money gets spent on Kiara at Pets At Home and the same with the vets when she needs to “fingers crossed not any time soon.” Being a pet owner in my eyes is the best thing in the world because not only do you have a wonderful pet but you have a responsibility to look after this lovely animal and give them all they need everysingle day.

I use to look after 3 rabbits before I got Kiara and I loved looking after them and getting their trust and seeing how happy they hip-hopping around the garden and having the best time of their life. As most of you know I now have Kiara and she means so much to me as I’ve said time and time again.  Now I’m not saying being a pet owner isn’t all fun and walk down the park as most of you may know there are also a few things about being a pet owner that is not so good like if you want to go on holiday for a week or so. Before you go you’ve got to find someone who you trust and know that they will 100% look after your pet when you’re away and not just do it ones or do it on the date you are returning home. Now with Kiara I don’t like anyone looking after her but me and that’s because she means so much to me I don’t trust no one to look after her and Kiara isn’t good with people she doesn’t know and she has gotten used to just being me who feeds her and looks after her.

  1. I don’t think there is a happier rabbit on this earth that is luckier than your Kiara, she is so lucky to have you. We don’t have pets in our household and my daughter is VERY upset with me for it. But just like you wrote – taking care of a pet means a lot of responsibilities, and I just don’t feel like I can’t take any more. Lucky for us we are a small community with lots of dogs and pets around so my daughter sort of adopted our neighbor’s dog:) I love reading about you and Kiara. Great post, Jack.
